Most immigration firms would never tell you to save your money. We will, because for some couples it's the truth β€” and being honest about it is exactly why people trust us with the cases that do need help.

When you can probably do it yourself

  • You're married, with a clear-cut genuine relationship and good evidence.
  • The UK sponsor has a steady salaried job comfortably over Β£29,000, held 6+ months.
  • There's no awkward immigration or criminal history on either side.
  • You're organised and willing to follow GOV.UK guidance carefully.

When help genuinely earns its keep

  • Self-employment or company income β€” the most paperwork-heavy, error-prone area.
  • Savings or combined income β€” easy to miscalculate or under-evidence.
  • A previous refusal β€” needs careful handling.
  • A tight or borderline financial position.
  • Anything unusual about the relationship or any immigration/criminal history.

The honest maths

Our fee is Β£800–£1,200. A refusal can cost you Β£5,000+ to do again, plus months of delay. If your case carries real risk, help isn't an expense β€” it's insurance. If your case is simple, paying for help is money you don't need to spend.

What to look for in any adviser

Use someone properly regulated for immigration work, transparent about fees, who doesn't promise guaranteed outcomes, and who's happy to tell you when you don't need them. Be wary of anyone advertising a '100% success rate'.

Common questions

Is it cheaper to do it myself?

Yes, if your case is straightforward.

What does an adviser actually do?

Assess eligibility, get the evidence right, prepare and submit, deal with the Home Office.

How do I check an adviser is regulated?

Check the public register of immigration advisers.
